Anyone? With no husband guilt? *cackles* I’d steal Gerard Butler and we’d lock ourselves in a hut on a tropical island where no one could find us. There would be a blindfold, ropes and Gatorade involved.

THE BOND THAT TIES US was a reoccurring dream I’d had over a period of years. It’s the story of Haylie Bond, the new security chief on a faraway Earth colony. Upon arriving on the planet, Haylie discovers she’s drawn to Kamran, an alien ambassador. They can’t keep their hands off each other, which leads to complications, especially when Kamran informs Haylie they are required to leave the colony and return to his planet. When an alien race attacks the colony, they must fight their growing attraction for each other in order to protect the home they love.
Flushing out all of the details was a lot of fun for me. I hope readers enjoy the futuristic setting and the mystery Haylie and Kamran have to solve. Most of all, I hope the characters are enjoyable — they are near and dear to my heart.
What do you like to do when you’re not working?
Spending time with my family is really important to me. We love to get outside and work in our yard, or swim in the pool in the summer. If I’m not outside, most likely you’ll find me somewhere with a good book.
What do you like about where you live?
Being on the East Coast of Canada, I have to say I love being near the ocean. It makes you realize just how small you are in this world when you stand on the coast and see nothing but blue. That and we have lots of lobster!
If you could have one special super or magical power, what would it be?
The ability to be in two places at once. Oh the fun I could have...
What’s your favorite smell?
I’d have to say my husband. There’s something about his scent that gets me all gooey. *drool* Sorry, what was the question?
What makes a man sexy?
I don’t know if there is any one thing for me. I look at the whole package. His personality and his eyes are usually the first things I notice. I find a man who takes charge very sexy. Give me an alpha any day!
What’s the most interesting thing you’ve ever done?
I’d have to say having dinner with Prince Charles was probably the most interesting thing. I was representing my university at a dinner in his honor. I totally forgot all the protocol things they told me and probably came across as a dolt, but it was a blast!
What else would you like readers to know about you or your work?

I have some seriously kinky erotic fantasies which I don’t think would be considered at all romantic! I would meet my Muse. He is very real to me. WHIPS & WHISPERS took fifteen years to write. I’ve written many books in between, but this one is special because the heroine’s experiences and growth so closely and complexly mirrored my own. I started the book when I first discovered that there was a whole world out there I never knew about and yet that I had been longing for without realizing it—BDSM. Wow. It blew my mind and my libido wide open! It’s been a fascinating journey, and all I can say is that even though I placed the characters in a fictional plot, the men in the book and the feelings and the conflicts and the pleasures they aroused in Morgan are very real, indeed. The story took on a life of its own and I think it’s uniquely rich because of how long it took to write, like a fine wine.
What do you like to do when you’re not working?
I’ve always had a visual side, and I’ve discovered a wonderful outlet for my love of images and collage by making promo films for my books! I love taking photographs. I also love to cook and eat delicious food which we always enjoy with wine, of course, and I’ve been lucky enough to be able to add growing my own fruits and vegetables and raising hens for eggs to these simple but vital pleasures. I also (really, no kidding) love doing yoga twice a week. It’s true what they say that yoga is the poetry of the body, because after the initial anguish (“I can’t possibly do that with my body!”) your muscles just LOVE how it feels! Of course I love to read, and to listen to music, and I think Netflix is the best. Right now I am deep into researching a historical novel set in ancient Egypt about Hatchepsut, the queen who crowned herself pharaoh. Oh yes, did I forget to mention that I like to have sex?
What do you like about where you live?
Everything. We live on five mostly wooded acres where we can’t see any of our neighbors. Words can scarcely express about how much I love it out here. I’ve tried writing poems about it which I’ve posted on my website. Living here is at once spiritual and wonderfully hedonistic.
If you could have one special super or magical power, what would it be?
Oh, that’s easy! I’d be like Alana (not sure that’s how you spell her name) in the 4400 who can take herself and someone else into a “dream” world that feels just like reality except you can experience anything you want to, and it can last as long as you like and only a few minutes will have passed when you come back. Virtual reality in the flesh!
What’s your favorite smell?
My favorite smell is smell itself! More than any other I think the sense of smell roots you in the sensual world, and its power to evoke lost moments and even deeply buried memories that otherwise might never have surfaced into your consciousness is truly magical. I can’t pick a particular smell because there are different categories, such as food smells, flower smells, other natural smells like the ocean… I just can’t pick one, I’m sorry!
What makes a man sexy?
LOL. This question has taken me over ten books to try to answer! There is no single feature, obviously, as every recipe has more than one ingredient. But if I have to narrow it down to a specific quality, it would have to be his personality, his aura, his self-confidence, how he carries himself, which is intimately related to how intelligent and deep he is. The most physically beautiful man can leave me feeling cold if there isn’t something about the way he looks at me that inspires my most profound respect and makes me want to do whatever he says! Of course, a handsome face and tall, broad-shouldered, lean yet muscular body doesn’t hurt either!
What’s the most interesting thing you’ve ever done?
Be born! Seriously, that’s another one of those questions with so many possible answers, but I would have to say the most interesting thing I’ve ever done I’m doing right now, and hope to keep doing for a very long time—living with the man I knew I already loved from the moment I saw him. We both took one look at each other and thought, “I know you!” and “God, where the hell have you been?!” That’s a pretty interesting fact to have been living with everyday for over five years now.
What else would you like readers to know about you or your work?
That even my fiction is factual in the sense that it’s how I “worship” the very real mystery of the human heart and soul that manifests as desire and attraction and an endless excitement for Being. I feel I’m much wiser when I’m actually engaged in the process of writing, which is almost like channeling for me. And even though my settings and characters are fictitious, I haven’t just imagined most of them, and what my heroines have experienced I have, too, in a very real sense, because I’m a firm believer in striving to make dreams reality.

My first thought involved a romantic tryst on a tropical island with my wonderful, what-would-I-do-without-him husband, but hey, this is a fantasy, right? I’ve already done that. I love Regencies, but after reading a hundred of them, they can be so predictable. So I decided to write my own, except the two main characters are two hot Bow Street Runners. Trent is an aristocrat working to rebuild his family’s wealth, hiding his secret desires behind the relationship with his mistress. William, raised belowstairs, finds his pleasures in more unsavory places while fantasizing about Lord Trent. The two men are used to solving complicated crimes, but can they find a happy resolution to a lover’s triangle? Jealousy and mistrust run rampant as his lovers vie for Trent’s interest in and out of the bedroom, the billiard room, the stable, the parlor... It’s a Regency murder mystery with a sexy twist.
What do you like to do when you’re not working?
Read. Dabble in acrylic landscape painting. Watch romantic comedy movies. Take walks with my husband. Anything but the laundry—LOL!
What do you like about where you live?
I live in a small town where if you call the wrong local number, you can still talk for 20 minutes. It’s quiet and charming and the people are overflowing with southern hospitality—quite an eye-opener for a Yankee gal.

I’d want to fly, particularly with Superman. I figure the gorgeous view might get old after a while and Superman would keep thing hopping.
